I have a "notchy" feel in my steering wheel when I turn the wheel a few degrees from off center in either direction or allow the wheel to self center when travelling straight ahead or around a slight bend. This does not occur when the wheel is turned a large amount, but only within about 10-15 degress in either direction from center.

Steering is tight and requires more effort than I think it should when first stating up and driving off. Steering feels smooth and normal at speed. No problems at speed so far. My MINI is a 2015 Cooper S hardtop with auto tranny.
